Antiques On High, the new all sour brewery from Seventh Son, hosted an exclusive tasting event at a new social space in South Columbus called Leisure Club early last week. The tasting consisted of four sour beers and two cocktails, with a bit of a twist - the address of the location was not provided until the day of the event! After receiving the address of the location on South High Street - an AOH van was parked outside the building and a gentleman was at the door reviewing the tickets and welcoming all who entered.

Upon entering the building, a keepsake glass used for sampling with a menu inside was waiting on an old wooden ironing board. Leisure Club’s space is divided into three unique rooms - each room featured a sour beer sampling option. One of the rooms, local mixologist and owner of Behind The Glass, LLC, Travis Owens, was on site to provide the mixed cocktails that AOH will be featuring as part of their draft cocktail lineup. Owens is assisting AOH in the creation of these craft cocktails, and each served with a metal straw for sustainability. The other side of the building had a cheese plate and crackers, but throughout the entire space, pretzel rods were available for a quick bite and palate refresher. Tickets were exchanged for half or full pours and given the tasting was limited, there was never a long wait. We ran into owner Collin Castore - who took the time to talk with us and see how we were enjoying the new beers and cocktails. He was very excited to be opening to doors of AOH soon!

The event was a great chance to taste the AOH beers - and everything was excellent. The Crushed Velvet took home my top prize among the four sour beer varieties - and the Doppelganger was very refreshing!
