Rhinegeist Brewery (est. 2013) is located in the Over-the-Rhine Brewery District in Cincinnati, once the heart of the city, but was decimated by prohibition. Rhinegeist translates to Ghost of the Rhine and occupies the space of the Moerlein bottling plant that dates back to 1895. The interior is an expansive open layout, with ping-pong, corn-hole, and long tables to enjoy your flights. The production facility is housed in the corner of the large tap room - with Rhinegeist's signature can designs piled high, just waiting to be filled and shipped for all to enjoy. The brew pub featured two separate pouring areas and a smaller section if you preferred not to take in the games being played. The Rhinegeist tap handles feature a ghost like figure on top of the cylindrical handle. The name of the beers are very clearly displayed on the neck of the handle and the color can help identify the brew.

If you enjoy IPAs, Rhinegeist is essential to your brewery checklist and we would highly recommend moving it to the top of the list of places to visit. Grab a flight, challenge someone in ping-pong, and enjoy the afternoon!

Snow Day Columbus | February 11, 2017

Hans and Truth were flowing from the van, parked alongside the river in downtown Columbus at Genoa Park. All proceeds went to several local Columbus charities. With music playing and games for the kids, this was a nice way to celebrate great beers for a great cause. While technically it was a sunny 55° afternoon instead of a true snow day, no one complained!
