Forest City Brewery (est. 2014) is one of the newest Cleveland breweries, but boasts Cleveland's oldest beer garden, Atlantic Beer Garden, dating back to 1865 and was also the site of the Silberg Brothers Beer Garden, which operated in the late 1800s. It is located on Cleveland's Duck Island, nestled between Tremont and Ohio City. Forest City is looking to capture an old-time feel, with historical gems found throughout the taproom. It's almost like a treasure hunt - find a Waldorf Lager sign that dates back to pre-WWI days, a bottle from the "Buckeye Weiss Beer Co," which dates back to 1899, and most notably a flower shop cooler that is the centerpiece for the bar and features the draft list above it - from 1905.

Although a very small operation, the brewery is seeing great success and is already looking to expand. Only open on Friday to start - Forest City is looking to be open throughout the weekend, from Friday through Sunday! Given the late arrival on Friday, our visit to the beer garden was short and pictures were dark - but definitely looking to get back soon once that the brewery is open throughout the weekend!
